P.38 Pistol - ac 42, early marking

Walther had significant problems getting up to full production to meet their quota for the German Army.  In fact, by the end of 1942 two additional manufacturers would be turning out the Walther design (the two were Mauser and Spreewerke).  After eliminating the additional work associated with the high gloss finish, this model was the last to retain waffenamt marked small part & numbered grips and magazine.

This first piece is an early example in outstanding original condition, all matching (except the mag).  It is in a proper joa 1942 hardshell holster.

This second piece has seen some significant wear (no abuse, no rust), but it is all matching including the grips and BOTH magazines, and a jhg 1942 riveted hardshell holster.  As much as I would like to find a better condition example with matching magazines, this is the best I have found.
