P.08 Pistol - S/42, G date

Hitler did not announced German rearmament until 1935.  Therefore, German arms produced in 1935 still had the date of manufacture coded to keep the secret of their remilitarization.  The code for 1935 was a capital letter G.

This piece is in very good original condition, all matching (except for the mag.), with a proper 1935 dated holster.  It has British capture marks.  If you have seen the series Band of Brothers, there is a scene in England, prior to D-Day in which a US paratrooper admires the Luger taken by a British Tommy (probably in France, Norway or North Africa).  This would be such a piece.
