P.38 Pistol - Model P.38 Commercial
Once the German Army adopted the Walther design in 1938, the pistol's designation became Pistole Model 1938, or P.38 for short. Walther took up this offical army designation to enhance their marketing of the pistol. What had formerly been the Mod HP now became the Mod P.38. Still a commercial designation, but clearly only found on slides made after the official German Army adoption of the design.
This piece exhibits a rare stick wing eagle on the trigger guard web. Despite all theories, the meaning of this symbol is uncertain. Still, it adds something for the collector to look for.
This piece is in original condition, all matching, with two correct commercial magazines.
