P.38 Pistol - Model HP with Waffenamt

In the initial marketing of their military pistol design, Walther named the pistol the Heer Pistole (translated Army Pistol).  Slides made prior to the adoption of the pistol by the German Army in 1938 were marked Mod HP.

What makes this piece interesting is that it was taken from commercial inventory, inspection marked with a military Waffenamt, and issued for military use.  This is known to have happened to meet the quota for some months when military production was lagging.  This is a difficult to find variation.

This piece is in original condition, all matching, with two correct magazines.  It is in a proper ndk 44 black hardshell holster.
