Astra Model 600 Pistol

The German support to Spanish Generaliso Francisco Franco in the Spanish Civil War helped forge a bond between the two countries.  One outcome of the bond was that Germany contracted to procure several Spanish made side arms.  The Astra Model 600 was the quintessential example.  Chambered for 9 mm Parabellum, the round slide is its most distinctive feature.  There were several contract blocks, the last one of which never made it to Germany due to Allied pressure on European railroad transportation.  Even though this last group was not received or marked by the German Army, we know from records that the serial numbers intended for Germany.

This first piece was part of the contract shipment sent to Germany, and marked with the Waffenamt mark.  It is in excellent original condition, all matching, with both correct magazines, in a proper wartime holster.

This second piece was part of the contract shipment which left Spain, but got send back due to the Allied advance having cut off the railroad routes.  It is in excellent original condition, all matching with both correct magazines and a correct softshell holster.
